Quicksilvas Summary Care Record Solution Wins Excellence Award

Quicksilva has won the 2016 eHI Award for Excellence in Mobile Healthcare.

The award comes after a successful roll-out of the solution to over 450 South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) vehicles as part of the Ortivus Electronic Patient Record implementation. Launched in 2015, the solution was the first Summary Care Record Mini Service to market.

It is evident the impact the solution has made for SCAS, whose paramedics can now access a patients’ Summary Care Record at the scene using robust handheld devices, has been recognised by a panel of health sector luminaries. Access to this key information including details of current medication, medical conditions and allergies, has already prevented potential allergic reactions to medication and avoided unnecessary admissions to A&E.

“Our team is absolutely over the moon” said Quicksilva’s Business Development Manager, Bonnie Thomas. “Winning this award has really brought home to us the fact that what we do here in our rural Wiltshire office is having a material impact on the lives of patients in the SCAS area and to the crews who do an amazing job. That is so rewarding and we couldn’t be more proud”.

It was a timely reward in a week where the Summary Care Record reached a record 83,000 views across England. Quicksilva’s Managing Director Gayna Hart said:

“We are absolutely delighted to be recognised in this way and it is always sweet to be the first to break new ground. More exciting is the fact this award highlights the potential the Summary Care Record has to offer. For us it is just the start as we look towards the pharmacy and care sectors for our next projects”.
