Connect has designed & built a mobile app for NHS Education for Scotland (NES) to help bring cognitive rehabilitation to the fore of clinicians’ minds when working with people in the early stages of dementia.
The ‘Cognitive Rehab in Dementia’ app, which is the first of its kind in Scotland, has been developed to support good practice in cognitive rehabilitation and to help make assessments easier to conduct.
By developing the resource as a mobile app, it can be used on-the-go, allowing clinicians to access information instantly – thereby improving accessibility and equity of care.
The app features two sections: ‘Learn’ and ‘Rehabilitation’. The ‘Learn’ section provides educational information on cognition and cognitive impairment, and the interactive ‘Rehabilitation’ section guides the user through the process of cognitive rehabilitation.
Designed with frontline staff in mind, the app incorporates several carefully considered elements, including distinct colour-coded sections, informative, jargon-free content and links to valuable resources.
