Newcastle is first for Fujifilm FDR nano

Nuffield Health, radiology department in Newcastle-upon- Tyne has chosen the Fujifilm FDR nano.

The company says the unit looks nothing like any other mobile x-ray unit and said it’s small size conceals uncompromising image quality and functionality.

Amanda Cumersdale, Radiology Manager at Nuffield Health Newcastle. “The staff love it. The image quality is fabulous and the processing time is extremely fast – we have seen a definite improvement in our workflow. We wanted our new mobile unit to be intuitive, easily manoeuvrable and small, and the FDR nano ticked all of those boxes. Many of our staff are new to DR and to FUJIFILM, and they have found it very intuitive and have learnt to navigate the unit with minimal training. The compact size makes it ideal for our department and ward spaces, and we’ve been surprised at how versatile it is and how much we’ve used it. The FDR nano is now a key part of our service delivery.”

Nuffield Health Newcastle appointed Fujifilm to facilitate a major DR upgrade at the hospital involving a new FDR Visionary Suite room solution and the replacement of their existing mobile which had historically seen very little use. The FDR nano was
used to allow continued service delivery whilst the new room installation was being completed, and mobile x-ray examinations jumped from one patient per month, to in excess of 200 patients in that two month period.

“One of the benefits of purchasing both the FDR nano and the Visionary Suite together is that it allows us to share detectors, and this was a key factor in our decision to chose Fujifilm.” Amanda said.
