Virtual assistant Samantha to identify data sets and automate processes

NoteSwift a provider of EHR virtual assistant solutions based in Boston, USA has announced a partnership with athenahealth,  through athenahealth’s ‘More Disruption Please’ (MDP) program.

The newly integrated EHR virtual assistant, Samantha™, is now available to athenahealth’s growing network of more than 106,000 healthcare providers to help physicians reduce EHR documentation time while increasing reporting accuracy.

The company said its virtual assistant Samantha could save 6-8 hours each week by removing the need for clinicians to enter details manually about patient encounters. Instead the company said the technology creates the entire patient note from a single screen and a physician simply types or dictates the patient narrative and Samantha’s patent-pending technology intelligently parses the text, identifies structured data elements, assigns all required coding, and prepares orders and ePrescriptions for physician sign-off. Samantha then places all the information into the correct fields of athenaClinicals® EHR automatically–just as if it had been typed in manually.”
