Moorfields Eye Hospital pilots outpatient check-in kiosks

Moorfields Eye Hospital will pilot four new outpatient check-in kiosks to offer patients an alternative to waiting in a check-in queue.

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust said the new patient kiosks are a step forward for them in embracing new, efficient ways of working that benefits patients and hospital staff.

The Trust said the kiosk screens have been specifically modified for visually impaired patients, can be changed to high contrast colours large font display, and offer a choice of 11 languages. Staff and volunteers will be available to support patients in using the new kiosks.

As part of this programme, Moorfields are also considering ways to further assist patients in using patient kiosks and digital self check-in technology in the future, to ensure they continue to improve and innovate to deliver the best patient experience at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

The Hospital is piloting the kiosks for a period of six months at Moorfields City Road. A review of all Moorfields sites will take place over the coming months to understand which sites would benefit from outpatient check-in kiosks being installed.
