Oxford University Hospitals adopts inventory management solution

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) is adopting a new inventory management solution, 360 IM, from Ingenica Solutions.

By tracking and tracing supplies, the solution is said to help the trust gain greater efficiencies in the areas of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, patient costing and the back office; bringing significant benefits.

Supplied in line with the Scan4Safety program, the Zebra MC18 mobility device will also be utilised for barcoding efficiencies as part of the implementation. This enables clinicians at the trust to scan barcodes and inventory consumption to the patient level in real-time.

The implementation of Ingenica Solutions’ 360 IM is planned as a phased approach:

Phase One will see the current solution replaced with the 360 IM inventory management solution and costing in the orthotic stores and orthopaedic stores at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC) within a tight timescale. Phase two will involve the rollout of the solution across the entire trust.

Nicola Hall, managing director at Ingenica Solutions, said: “Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust is one of a growing number of trusts to select Ingenica Solutions as its inventory management solution provider, which is absolutely fantastic. Our team provides OUH with a highly-flexible, cost-effective solution, and, importantly, one that promises to deliver reliable and sustainable change.”
