HTN 100: East Surrey Hospital and iCode Teaching Files Solution

East Surrey Hospital

East Surrey Hospital saves millions by introducing a patient-controlled digital portal

Online consultations and shared care planning is helping to avoid £4 million of high costs drugs, hospitalisations, and operations in East Surrey Hospital where Patients Know Best – a digital platform used in over 30 UK hospitals, is being used to manage healthcare for over 4,000 patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Dr. Azhar Ansari, Consultant Gastroenterologist, led the trial and estimates rolling this out for the 300,000 people in the UK living with IBD would save £300 million alone for the NHS.

iCode Teaching Files Solution

iCode Teaching Files is an innovative advanced solution for anonymisation and easy categorisation of interesting studies.  This sophisticated modular e-learning tool is multi-lingual, web-based and can work either standalone or integrated into PACS/ RIS.  Radiologists can archive cases according to ACR standards (body part and type of disease) but also in an integrated educational solution that is suitable for academic purposes.  Presentations, lectures and tests can be built, managed, tracked and stored within the system.   iCode complies with international standards such as DICOM and HL7 so is easily integrated within any modern radiology environment, and all patient information is anonymised to protect patient data security.
